Missions of Health was a nonprofit organization I started and ran for 3 years working in Pallisa, Uganda. Our goal was to bring health and well-being to the most underserved people and areas of our world.
Partnering with local doctors and leaders, Missions of Health was formed as a nonprofit organization to aid and expand local clinics in the areas of disease prevention, community development & primary care assistance. I led international trips, built fundraising teams, developed business plans, and budget forecasts, partnered with the National Institute of Health for research projects, coordinated medical supplies from US hospitals, and spoke at numerous events to raise awareness and support for our cause.
In just a few years, a small, one-building clinic became a full-functioning hospital, surgical center, and nursing school with over 400 resident students. It currently serves as the highest standard of care in the area.

Every brand tells a story. Some are completely new narratives and others are just minor tweaks. This project was a brand evolution - a small adjustment to our logo and colors but one that would ultimately be a major shift in attitude and positioning. We liked the idea of naming our colors, letting people know that while some things were new and different (Koral with a K, an infinity in our logo, etc) others were familiar and friendly. Change can often be good and sometimes just a bit is more than enough.
In addition to producing the launch video, I rejuvenated our video brand guidelines for freelancers, agencies, and internal teams. This allowed us to maintain consistency, build brand loyalty and reduce long-term production costs.

Global Citizen is an education and advocacy organization using social campaigns to focus attention on ending extreme poverty.
I presented 1.4 Billion Reasons, a 90-minute multimedia presentation on eradicating extreme poverty, at universities, conferences, and schools across the country. I managed the presentation tour through 25 states and 70 events, speaking to over 15,000 attendees. I served on the founding team launching Global Citizen and the Global Citizen Festival into its current form today — a free ticketed event in New York City coinciding with the UN General Assembly every September. The festival has featured notable performances by Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Pearl Jam, Neil Young, John Mayer, Rihanna, and numerous others.

Inspiration comes in many forms.
In 2015, I saw a movie called The Walk, which was the story of 24-year-old French high-wire artist Philippe Petit's walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center on August 7, 1974. I was so inspired by this crazy, ridiculous, and audacious accomplishment I decided to do a ridiculous accomplishment of my own. One I swore I never could or would do. ie. Run a marathon.
One step at a time, I went from never running a race to finishing the grueling 26.2 miles from Dodger Stadium to Santa Monica Pier while raising thousands of dollars for charity. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I went on to complete the LA Marathon in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
In 2018, the conflict in Syria was considered one of the worst humanitarian crises in recent memory. More than half of the country’s population had been killed or forced to flee their homes. In an effort to support the humanitarian effort in Syria, DisasterReady.org partnered with Mercy Corps and International Rescue Committee to design and implement a new technology-based learning program providing free, online learning resources and courses in Arabic and English. This would immediately strengthen the knowledge and skills of numerous humanitarians, volunteers, and field staff delivering assistance in Syria.

Creating shared language around complex topics can often be tricky. Sometimes the words we say can get in the way of what we actually mean. For Starters, the newest Cornerstone original learning series aims to create a shared understanding of foundational terms used in DEIB training. Words like equity, race, belonging, and gender.
Each of the 19 courses, highlights a single word, and in 3 minutes or less helps boost a learner’s ability to communicate consistently and effectively.
In 2023, For Starters won 2 Telly Awards for excellence in corporate training. 🏆🏆

Sometimes a short story can have a lasting impact.
While they are ephemeral in nature, Instagram Stories offer authentic glimpses into our everyday life. They showcase behind-the-scenes content, highlight new adventures, or can be the most meaningful thing someone might see in their day. Despite their limited lifespan, it's important to create stories that make a mark, and with a little creativity extend far beyond their 24-hour lifespan.
These are a small sample of my favorite 24-hour stories.
I produced this four-part series for Convergence, Cornerstone’s annual client conference that brings together thousands of clients from around the world. From writing and casting to directing and editing, I led our team through development and final delivery.

Throughout 2021, we focused on three trending learning topics — diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), leading in uncertain times, and retaining employees. Whether from our in-house studio team or together with partners like SkillPill, TED, Madecraft, we created content to create a healthy, strong workforce in 2021 and beyond. This is the best of Cornerstone Studios in 2021.
